Project service

Feeder integration & controls with defined evidence.

Connect the feeder, bulk supply, inspection, buffer and machine demand through a clear mechanical, electrical and control interface.

  • Clear scope
  • Measurable criteria
  • Interface control
  • Documented handover
Service overview

What does this service achieve?

Reliable feeding depends on coordinated states: the sorter must know when the track is full, the machine must know when a part is available, and both systems need defined responses to starvation, jam, reject and access events.

Core deliverables

Technical outputs that move the project forward.

Interface schedule

Mechanical datum, services, I/O, network and ownership boundaries documented.

Control philosophy

Ready, run, demand, low-level, full, fault and reset states defined.

Diagnostics

Sensors, timeouts and HMI messages structured around operator recovery.

Safety coordination

Access, interlocks, emergency stops and machine boundaries reviewed together.

Working method

A staged route from input to evidence.

Confirm

Confirm the downstream cycle and part-request sequence.

Fix

Fix the discharge datum, available envelope and service points.

Define

Define buffer capacity and response to short machine stops.

Create

Create the I/O or network handshake and fault matrix.

Integrate

Integrate guarding, access and safety interfaces into the cell concept.

Project inputs

Good evidence begins with representative information.

Technical decisions should be based on the normal production condition, including component variation, surface finish, contamination, product changeovers and the actual receiving machine.

  • Current drawings and a complete format list
  • Representative samples from routine production
  • Required orientation, datum and sustained output
  • Site, controls and safety standards
  • Acceptance protocol and responsibility boundaries

Service FAQ

Integration & controls questions.

Can the feeder connect to an existing PLC?

Yes. The interface can use hardwired I/O or an agreed industrial network, subject to the available hardware, customer standard and access to the relevant machine controls.

What signals does a feeder usually need?

Common signals include run permission, demand, downstream ready, feeder ready, low level, track full, fault, reset and emergency-stop status. The exact schedule is application-specific.

Can the system include its own HMI?

Yes. A local controller and HMI can manage recipes, speeds, sensor status, diagnostics and maintenance functions.

How is feeder starvation prevented?

Bulk level sensing, controlled replenishment, track buffering and early low-part alarms are combined so the process has time to recover.

Who is responsible for the final machine risk assessment?

Responsibilities must be agreed contractually. The integrator can provide design and safety information for the supplied scope, while the party placing the complete machine or assembly into service must ensure the overall conformity process is completed.

Need help choosing the right feeder?

Send a part photo or drawing, the target rate and the required orientation. We will recommend the most suitable starting point.
